Hi @Rudra011,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to deal with FPS drops during gameplay on your HP Pavilion Gaming laptop. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially improve your gaming experience.

  • Update Graphics Drivers: Ensure your graphics drivers are up to date. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause performance issues.
  • Check Power Settings: Make sure your laptop is set to "High Performance" mode when gaming. This setting ensures your laptop is using its maximum capabilities.
  • Monitor Temperature: Check if your laptop is overheating during gameplay. Use software like HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner to monitor temperatures. Overheating can lead to throttling and FPS drops.
  • Close Background Applications: Close any unnecessary background applications that might be consuming system resources.
  • Adjust In-Game Settings: Experiment with different graphics settings within your games. Sometimes specific settings like shadows, reflections, or anti-aliasing can heavily impact performance.
  • Check for Malware: Run a full system scan to ensure your laptop is not infected with malware, which can cause performance issues.
  • Update Windows: Ensure your Windows OS is up to date with the latest updates and patches.
  • Check for Hardware Issues: If possible, check if there are any hardware issues by running diagnostic tests provided by HP.
  • Manage Power and Thermal Throttling: Some laptops throttle performance to manage heat and power consumption. You may need to adjust settings or use cooling pads to mitigate this.
  • Consider Cleaning Dust: If your laptop has accumulated dust, it might affect cooling. Consider cleaning the vents and fans.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
