@Athchandran, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand your HP Victus 15.6 laptop stopped charging after a power surge that tripped the breaker. Let’s walk through some steps to help resolve this issue.

Safety First

  • Ensure the power outlet is working by testing it with another device.
  • Avoid using power strips or surge protectors for now, plug the adapter directly into the wall.

Check the Power Adapter

  • Inspect the adapter and cable for any visible damage or burnt smell.
  • If available, try using a compatible HP adapter to rule out adapter failure.

Perform a Hard Reset

This can help clear any residual electrical charge:

  • Disconnect the adapter.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the adapter and try powering on the laptop.

Check Charging Indicators

  • Look for any LED lights near the charging port or on the power button.
  • If there’s no light, the issue could be with the adapter, charging port, or internal hardware.

Try a BIOS Reset (if the laptop powers on)

If the laptop turns on but doesn’t charge:

  • Tap Esc repeatedly at startup > Select F10 for BIOS.
  • Press F9 to load defaults, then F10 to save and exit.

If none of this helps, we suggest you please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
