Hello, I have a question about the OMEN Gaming Laptop 16z-xf000. I've heard of people having issues with the Omen 2023 series and wanted to know if this model also had the issue of black screens everyone else is talking about. Thanks! This post and the replies detail the issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/HPOmen/comments/1c4td6r/hp_is_aware_the_chronic_black_screen_problem/

Hi INCREDI.
There is no official HP info on this subject. In the HP world this problem does not (and probably never will) exist. From posts on the HP Community and other fora (Reddit) it originally seemed that the AMD Omen variants were safe from this bug. However, by now several posts with the 16-XF variants having the exact same issue have surfaced: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Notebooks/While-gaming-the-laptop-shuts-off-and-restarts-itself.... From the user input we have so far (about this nonexistent design flaw) the problem is with the high performance 2023 16inch Omen laptops. Variants such as the 16-WD and 16-XD won't have this issue........

Thank you for the responsive comment. Considering that the issue is widespread and affects nearly every 16 model, what are the options for the people who bought them? I saw there was an option to refund, but a 15% restocking fee would be needed. Is there any way to get a full refund or a model change to one that's not defective. If it's not possible from their end, would it be possible to raise this issue with our consumerism safety boards and try to get them to fo something?

As I mentioned above, according to HP this issue is neither REAL nor widespread. Without official confirmation on any issue by any multinational corporation.....every single user is on his own having to do with local Service centers. So, it basically comes down to what actual place on the globe you're really at......
If you were situated in Europe -like me- the answer to your last question would probably be a hard yes.
