HP Omen 15 Gamming Laptop (17G17EA)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello All,

After ram upgrade from 2x4gb 3200 (factory installed PC-3200AA-SC0-11) to 2x8 GB (Ripjaws DDR4 SO-DIMM
DDR4-3200MHz CL22-22-22 1.20V 16GB (2x8GB), windows is not recognized memory in 2nd ram slot.

After update windows shows that only 1 of 2 ram slots are used (however CPU-Z properly recognizes modules in both slots).

Also, there is no problem with mixing 4 and 8gb modules in any configuration (windows shows that 2 of 2 ram slots are used and 12gb of memory available).

Why are new 2x8gb modules not working together ? (speeds are the same as the factory - 3200).

Can anyone provide any insight as to why this might be happening?

Not all RAM sticks are the same, your new RAM: CL22-22-22 1.20V. Did you check information from old RAM ? Crucial says its following RAM sticks should work

       16GB:    https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct2k8g4sfra32a/ct19002040

        32GB:   https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct2k16g4sfra32a/ct19002061
