@Jehuty1 Do you mean the keyboard stops responding at times? If yes, does that mean the mouse continues to respond while the keyboard is out?
Could you check with an external USB keyboard and check if that works fine?

The keyboard doesn't stop responding completely, it just seems like "keyup" event is sometimes not registered and therefore the action that is mapped to "keydown" keeps firing. I did not notice any external mouse issue.
I don't have an external keyboard at hand to check at this moment.

@Jehuty1 I recommend you attempt the below steps to identify the cause of the failure and resolve it accordingly:
- Try changing the keyboard layout/language and check if it works: Click here for steps.
- Clean the keyboard with compressed air (blow compressed air in the gaps between keys). This removes some lint and dust.
- Shut down the laptop, remove the battery and cable for a moment, press and hold the start button for 60 seconds
- Replace the battery, restart the notebook,
- if the issue persists, perform an interactive hardware test on the keyboard using the steps mentioned on this link: Click here (look under "Running Component Tests > Keyboard test").
If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.

There is no problem regarding language / keyboard layout settings.
I did try cleaning keyboard with compressed air.

- It's hard for me to be hopeful about getting help on HP forums, when I get "robot" like help instructions. I mean I did post what type of laptop I have, yet you advice me to "remove the battery" and such even though this model does not allow me to simply do that without tinkering with the insides, which I am not allowed to do lest I will void my warranty.
I do PASS Keyboard component test. As I said I have no problem getting keys to register - more like having a problem having keys correctly unregister.
Seems like an unpatched issue either with drivers or the hardware. As is said here:

Some of these are more than 2 years old, yet left unresolved.
