Hi,

I have exactly the same issue on my HP Pavilion Laptop 13-an0xxx. As the original post said - When browsing the internet, and scrolling down a page the touch pad often makes the page zoom in. I have disabled pinch zooming so that I can scroll in peace but even that did not prevent the page from zooming in while I was scrolling. Even weirder was that the browser itself (Edge) had not recognised that the page had zoomed in and still stated it was at 100% zoom. Zooming out did not fix the page - it kept the page zoomed in but just made it smaller and smaller. Is there some kind of 'tap and scroll to magnify' function or something that can be disabled? This problem is extremely frustrating as it happens once in every 10-20 scrolls. Please let me know if there is any support you can offer!

Cheers

@jarbe644 If the issue is only pertaining MS edge, you may need to contact Microsoft support for further assistance as reset is the final step we suggest our users, post that its best you use an alternate browser that doesn't have such compatibility or interface issues,

Perhaps, you could try google chrome or opera (my personal favorites) and let us know if that works fine.

@jarbe644 Welcome to HP Community!

  • Please let me know are you using two fingers scrolling or single finger scrolling.
  • Have you tried with a different browser and checked?

Please refer to the following link to how to use the touchpad.

I have been using two-finger scrolling,

So far I have not had a problem with chrome, but still have issues using edge. Pinch zoom is disabled and despite zooming in it does not change the browsers magnification % (i.e., it stays at 100%)

Thanks

@jarbe644

Thank you for the update.

I would suggest you repair or rest the edge browser and check for the issue.

To repair or Reset Edge browser please follow the below steps:

Click-via Settings. To do so, open the WinX Menu and click on Settings. Next, under the Apps and features section, search for Microsoft Edge.

Now click on the Advanced options.

Now you may first select the Repair option if Edge is not working properly. When you repair Edge, your data will remain safe.

If this does not make any difference, you may select the Reset button. Windows will reset your Edge browser settings, keeping your Favorites intact – but you may lose other Edge data.

If the issue still persists, please try to login with another account and check.

Have a nice day!!

Hi again,

I have tried repairing and resetting edge but this did not work, and different accounts did not make a difference.

Thanks for your help so far.
