HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-cx0027ua

Hello,

I have a laptop HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-cx0027ua with 8GB RAM installed, I want to upgrade it.

According to this topic it can be upgraded to 32GB:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Notebooks/Upgrade-RAM-and-SSD/td-p/7209810

But the official manual says that only 16 GB is supported.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05985643

According to the processor specifications it supports up to 64GB

https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/134876/intel-core-i5-8300h-processor-8m-cache-u...

So where is the truth? To what maximum RAM size it can be upgraded?

Hi:

The Crucial memory report indicates your notebook can support 2 x 16 GB of memory, and they are almost always correct.

The notebook would only support 64 GB of memory if it had 4 memory slots, which it doesn't, so you can't go by the processor spec sheet from Intel.  64 GB definitely won't work.

HP indicates the max is 2 x 8 GB.

That may be the highest memory configuration they tested.

There is no one here that can 100% guarantee anything beyond what HP indicates unless they own your very same model notebook, and installed 32 GB of memory in it.

Most notebooks with 2 memory slots and Intel 8th gen core processors can support 2 x 16 GB of memory.
