Edit: I have a newer method that is easier and very shorter at the very bottom of this thread. Still putting this long method in case that one didn't work. Have a good one lads.

So, I was having the same problem as the subject I have written. I saw the same exact post and I read through the whole thing and it ended with no definite solution. I decided to continue this subject with the same title because I have now found the solution to this little (or big) problem of ours.

What I did was:

- opening the device manager ( Windows + X),

- go to "memory technology devices",

- collapse it,

- then right click on "Realtek PCIE CardReader". This is the driver that is installed on my laptop. Could be the same as me, or different on your device. Just search the driver that have the name "Card Reader" on it. When you have done that,

- click on properties,

- click the Driver tab,

- then click on "roll Back Driver". And there you have it, your SD card can now read the Micro SD adapter.

I am not really sure this works on all devices that have the same problem, but it fixed mine and I hope to share the same to those that have the same problem.First stepFirst stepSecond stepSecond stepThird stepThird stepFourth stepFourth step

P.s

Okay, so I just found a way easier and practical method, I can say to myself, how can I take this long to realize this earlier lol. Anyway, before you do all that is on the above, I suggest trying this method first. If it doesn't work, then try to do the troubleshooting above.

So, when you open the device manager, and you already scrolled to the "Memory Technology Devices", all you need to do is just right-click on it, and press the "scan for hardware changes" prompt. Do this when you have already put your microSD inside your laptop.

And that should do it, simple and easy.
