Hello!
My OMEN 17t-an100 CTO laptop's hard drive crashed, so I ordered a new one, replaced it, installed a fresh copy of Windows 11 and I'm noticing is in device manager. I have a PCI Device showing up under 'Other Devices" and initially, I can't see what this device is. I did run a program that dug into it and it appears to be the SD card reader (Realtek Semiconductor RTS522A PCIe Card Reader). I tried to update the driver in device manager, but it doesn't find any drivers.
I originally upgraded the Windows 10 that came with this laptop to Windows 11 and during those two years, the card reader worked as expected. With this new, fresh hard drive and Windows 11 install (not on top of Windows 10) I'm now getting this error. Just to be thorough, I tried the card reader, and as expected, the OS doesn't see anything I put in the reader. I also went to Realtek's website and couldn't find anything specific to this particular chipset.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks! 🙂

Hey Paul,
Thank you so much for your help. This isn't the first time you've put on your wizard's hat to help me and I appreciate it.
Just a side note, that exe file didn't actually run anything so I had to point the driver update process to the file. Worked like a charm!
Can I get your home phone number? LOL Just kidding.
Thanks again 🙂

You're very welcome.
Glad to have been of assistance.
Yes, sometimes the drivers don't install when you run the exe files and kudos to you for knowing how to manually install the driver when that happens.
Cheers,
Paul
