Is there an SSD SLOT IN MY HP PAVILION 15 BC-406TX gaming laptop? I want to keep my 1 TB HDD and also add a 128gb SSD card.

Hello @Anonymous55

The manual will give you all the info you need... http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06198371

Yes you can add an M.2 SSD, either Sata or NVMe will work. But know that becuase it can use either, the NVMe type will only run at 3x2 speed, not 3x4 because it shares two PCIe lanew with sata. Personally, I would just stick with Sata M.2. You wont see much of a difference in speed and will be more cost effective.

128GB is very conservative. You will thank yourself later if you install one with more capacity than that.

Note: it is a good idea to check for the slot prior to purchasing an SSD. Sometimes HP leaves the slot off of the board, if it wasnt purchased with an SSD already in place.

yeah.  I have BC406TX and I recently installed M.2 SSD in it

Previously my laptop's booting time and others were dead slow. now, everything is working smoothly, and boot time have come down to 15sec.

details of SSD I installed:
