The Victus Laptop worked just fine, I played "the Finals" at work and then left the laptop and continued working on my other work-laptop. Then after work at home, the laptop wasn't turning on, so I connected it to the wall for a it. But it didn't turn on at all. (yes I carried the laptop in a laptop bag home).
Today, 1 Day Later, I tried it again, and it booted up, with blinking keyboard. Then after a while the screen also started flashing. I tried a Flashlight to see if it's the LCD Backlight, but it wasn't its the screen.
Then after i got the laptop booting up I restarted it for good sake, then the laptop finished a Windows update from before? ..The Laptop probably lost power while updating.
Now the laptop is lagging so hard I can't even turn it off even if I want it. It does respond very randomly.
It seems to me like it's struggling to provide the right voltage. When I plugged it in .. it went ok for a bit but then same problem.
Enough testing for now, I think it could damage it.
I bought the Laptop in January 2024. While using the laptop i tried not to get dust or debris in the laptop.
I always used it only indoors since the screen is so dim u realy cant use it outside.
The Laptop has an upgraded crucial 1tb m.2 since a year, the laptop also has issues in bios so its not really the m.2 drive.
The laptop was a Clean install of Windows 11, region was set to "english (world)".
Drivers were installed trough HP Support software and or windows.
I didnt use any USB Docks or high load.
Thermal wise i ran a bit quieter fan curve but i didnt choke the fans.

Hi @vsvito, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your Victus 16 is experiencing power delivery issues, possibly due to:
- Battery or Charger Issues – Since it didn’t turn on until the next day, the battery could have a failing cell, or the charger might not be providing stable power.
- Corrupt Windows Update – If the laptop lost power during an update, it could have caused system instability.
- BIOS or Firmware Glitch – Given that you already have BIOS issues, it might be related.
- Power Regulation Problem (Motherboard Issue) – If it's struggling to provide the correct voltage, it could be a failing VRM (Voltage Regulator Module) or another power-related component.
Steps to Troubleshoot:
Check the Power Adapter & Battery
- Try another HP-compatible charger.
- Boot without the battery (if removable) and run only on AC.
- Check if the battery percentage fluctuates randomly.
Hard Reset the Laptop
- Unplug the charger.
- Hold the power button for 30-60 seconds to drain residual power.
- Plug it back in and try booting.
Check for BIOS Recovery Options
- If the system is unstable, try entering BIOS (F10 on startup) and resetting it to factory defaults.
- If BIOS is buggy, consider updating or rolling back the BIOS (if possible).
Boot in Safe Mode
- If the lag persists, try booting into Safe Mode to see if the issue is software-related.
Test with a Live USB
- Boot into Windows or Linux Live USB (e.g., Ubuntu) to check if it behaves the same way. If it does, it’s likely hardware-related.
Reinstall Windows (as last resort)
- If the Windows update caused corruption, a clean reinstall might be necessary.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
