Hi @msha,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Screen flickering issues on your HP Omen 15 can be quite annoying, but here are several steps you can take to potentially fix or diagnose the problem:

Check for Driver Updates:

  • Update your display driver through the Device Manager. Right-click on the Start menu, select Device Manager, find Display Adapters, and right-click on your graphics card to update the driver. Alternatively, download drivers directly from the HP website or the website of your graphics card manufacturer (NVIDIA, AMD, Intel).

Adjust the Refresh Rate:

  • Sometimes flickering is due to an inappropriate refresh rate. Right-click on the desktop, select Display Settings, then Advanced Display Settings, and finally, Display Adapter Properties. Under the Monitor tab, you can try setting a different refresh rate to see if it resolves the flickering.

Check the Display Cables and Connections:

  • If you are using an external monitor, ensure the cables are securely connected and undamaged. Try using a different cable or connecting to a different display to rule out cable issues.

Perform a Hardware Diagnostic:

  • HP provides built-in hardware diagnostics. You can usually access these by pressing the F2 key as your laptop starts up. Run a full system diagnostic to check for any hardware issues.

Check for Overheating:

  • Overheating can cause many issues, including screen flickering. Make sure your laptop’s cooling system is not obstructed and is working properly. Cleaning the fans and vents might help.

Reset the Display Settings:

  • Sometimes, customized settings might conflict with display operations. Try resetting the display settings to default in the graphics control panel (NVIDIA Control Panel, AMD Radeon Settings, or Intel Graphics Settings).

Boot in Safe Mode:

  • Booting in safe mode can help you determine if third-party software is causing the issue. If the flicker stops in safe mode, it might be caused by software or drivers.

System Restore or Windows Update:

  • If the flickering started after a recent update, try rolling back to a previous system restore point before the issue began. Alternatively, check for new Windows updates that might include bug fixes.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
