The Secure Boot keys were cleared.
Default HP Secure Boot keys were reloaded.
The device boots only when Secure Boot is disabled.
The error displayed is "Selected Boot Image Did Not Authenticate."

Hi  @Aditya3010

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how  it can be when your PC only boots with Secure Boot disabled and displays the "Selected Boot Image Did Not Authenticate" error. I appreciate the details you've provided and the photo you shared. Dont worry I'll do my best to help you with this.

Could you kindly provide the following information?

  • What is the exact model number of your HP computer?
  • Did the issue begin after a BIOS update, Windows update, operating system installation, or any hardware changes?
  • Are you running the factory-installed operating system, or have you installed another operating system (Linux, dual boot, cloned drive, etc.)?
  • Were any Secure Boot settings, TPM settings, or BIOS settings changed before the issue began?
  • Does the system boot normally when Secure Boot is disabled every time, or do you encounter additional errors?
  • Have you recently replaced the SSD/HDD or restored the system from a backup image?

Based on the information provided, Kindly try the below steps and confirm :

  1. Load BIOS Defaults
    • Turn off the PC.
    • Power it on and repeatedly press F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
    • Select Restore Defaults or Setup Defaults.
    • Save the changes and restart.
  2. Re-enable Secure Boot
    • Within BIOS, navigate to Boot Options or Security.
    • Confirm that Secure Boot is enabled.
    • Verify that the BIOS indicates the HP Secure Boot Keys are installed.
    • Save and restart.
  3. Check Boot Mode
    • Ensure the system is configured for UEFI Boot Mode rather than Legacy/CSM mode.
    • Secure Boot requires UEFI-compatible boot files.
  4. Update BIOS
    • If the system can boot with Secure Boot disabled, visit the HP Support website - https://support.hp.com/  and install the latest BIOS available for your model.

From the image, I can see a blue startup screen showing a Secure Boot authentication-related error, which could have caused with the system being unable to verify the boot loader while Secure Boot is enabled.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
