Dear HP Support Team,

I am writing to formally report a serious structural defect in my HP Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-e0000 (Product ID: 2V8Z8AV) and to request an urgent resolution.

Device Details

  • Product: Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-e0000

  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600H with Radeon Graphics

  • RAM: 8 GB

  • Operating System: Windows 11 Pro (Version 25H2)

  • Warranty Expiry Date: 29-06-2023

My laptop is experiencing a major physical failure near the right display hinge. The hinge area has begun tearing through the plastic display lid, causing the lid to split into two distinct sections. This damage worsens every time the laptop lid is opened or closed and poses a serious risk of permanent display damage.

I have attached clear photographs showing the issue:

  • WhatsApp Image 2026-01-03 at 5.52.39 PM.jpegWhatsApp Image 2026-01-03 at 5.52.38 PM.jpeg

What is particularly concerning is that this issue surfaced shortly after the warranty period expired, despite normal usage and careful handling. The laptop has never been dropped, mishandled, or subjected to external damage.

After researching extensively, I discovered that this exact hinge and lid failure is widely reported by other HP Victus and HP Envy users. Below are examples of posts documenting the same issue with identical symptoms:

If this defect remains unaddressed, the display panel is very likely to crack or fail completely due to continued stress from the faulty hinge assembly. In such a scenario, I fear HP may classify the resulting damage as “out of warranty” or “accidental,” leading to unjustified repair costs for a defect that originated from the product design itself.

Given the evidence, it is difficult to believe that such a critical structural failure occurring immediately after warranty expiry is purely coincidental. This situation raises serious concerns about quality control and customer protection.

I am formally requesting HP to:

  • Acknowledge this issue as a known manufacturing defect, and

  • Repair or replace the affected hinge and display lid components at no cost, or

  • Provide an equivalent fair resolution, considering the circumstances.

I upgraded to the HP Victus series because of my trust in HP as a brand. Unfortunately, this experience has been deeply disappointing, especially for a device positioned as a premium gaming laptop.

I am raising this concern in good faith and expect HP to stand behind its product and customers. I sincerely hope this matter is reviewed carefully and resolved promptly before irreversible damage occurs to my device.

Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,
Iqra Khan
