Hello,

I am located in Turkey. The problem I am having is unrelated to the SSD (Hall effect sensor problem). I had to replace the original SSD since my Victus only has one SSD slot and 500gb wasn't enough for me, but I still have the original. My questions are:

1. Do I have to send the original SSD together with the laptop?

2. If I do, can I send the original SSD seperately without installing it, leaving my current SSD inside the laptop?

3. Also I assume it doesnt, but just to confirm, does replacing the original SSD void the warranty?

I know this questions are region-specific, but when I tried to contact HP, the only option for contact they gave me is this forum.

Thanks in advance

Hi:

This is a peer to peer forum.

We do not work for or represent HP.

What we have found out by reading other posts where folks have sent PC's in for warranty service is this:

You must return the PC to its original hardware configuration when you send it in for warranty work.

In your case, that means you have to:

Return the notebook with the original SSD installed.

You must remove the SSD you installed.

Generally, upgrading the memory or SSD does not void the warranty unless doing that was the cause of the damage.

If you look at chapter 5 of the service manual, installing memory and SSD's is a customer-authorized procedure.
