The computer is brought recently, and it is very slow and does not support games and slows down or in other words lags very badly that i get frustrated even after using it for normal work like coding, very worse network connection and very poor support from HP. I regret buying this laptop as it slows down and has many network issues. Would expect a positive response from HP as soon as possible. I think at least think that HP service center works well.

Hi @Srinath_patil,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing multiple frustrating issues with your Victus by HP 15.6-inch Gaming Laptop, including slow performance, lag in games, poor internet connectivity, and overall sluggishness even for basic tasks like coding. Since you recently bought it, you may still be within the return or warranty period, so let’s try some troubleshooting steps first.
Performance & Lag Issues
Check for Background Apps & High CPU Usage
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Go to the Processes tab and check for apps using high CPU, RAM, or Disk.
- End unnecessary tasks.
Power & Performance Settings
- Go to Settings > System > Power & Battery.
- Under Power Mode, set it to Best Performance.
- If you're on battery, plug in the laptop for better performance.
Disable Startup Programs
- Open Task Manager > Startup Apps.
- Disable unnecessary apps from launching at startup.
Update Graphics Drivers
- Open Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager).
- Expand Display Adapters.
- Right-click your NVIDIA/AMD GPU > Update driver.
- Do the same for the Intel UHD/AMD Integrated GPU.
Adjust NVIDIA Control Panel Settings
- Open NVIDIA Control Panel.
- Go to Manage 3D Settings > Global Settings.
- Set Power management mode to Prefer Maximum Performance.

Network Issues & Slow Internet
Reset Network Settings
- Open Command Prompt (Admin) and run these commands one by one:
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
- Restart your laptop.
Update Network Drivers
- Go to Device Manager > Network Adapters.
- Right-click WiFi Adapter > Update Driver.
Check Router & Connection
- Try connecting to another network (like a mobile hotspot).
- If the issue persists, it could be a hardware or driver problem.
Factory Reset (Last Resort)
If nothing works, try a factory reset:
- Backup your important files.
- Go to Settings > System > Recovery > Reset This PC.
- Choose Remove everything and reinstall Windows.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
