Hi @Harsh204

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing all those details—it really helps paint a clear picture. It’s especially frustrating when a game like Roblox, which usually runs smoothly, starts stuttering every 10 seconds after a BIOS update, even though other games are fine.

You’ve already tried a lot of smart steps, so let’s build on that with a few more suggestions:

🧠 1. Adjust Roblox’s Graphics Mode

Roblox sometimes struggles with hybrid GPU setups:

  1. Open Roblox.
  2. Go to Settings > Graphics Mode.
  3. Set it to Manual, then lower the Graphics Quality to 4 or below.
  4. Save and restart the game.

🎮 2. Force Roblox to Use NVIDIA GPU

Even if both GPUs are active, Roblox might still default to Intel:

  1. Open NVIDIA Control Panel.
  2. Go to Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings.
  3. Add RobloxPlayerBeta.exe (found in C:\Users\[YourName]\AppData\Local\Roblox\Versions\[latest]\).
  4. Set Preferred graphics processor to High-performance NVIDIA processor.

🔄 3. Roll Back or Reflash BIOS (if available)

Since the issue began after a BIOS update:

  • Check HP’s Drivers & Downloads page for your model.
  • If an earlier BIOS version is listed, you can roll back using HP’s BIOS recovery tool.
  • Alternatively, reflashing the current BIOS version might help if the update didn’t apply cleanly.

🧪 4. Monitor Background Activity

Use Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to check for:

  • High CPU or disk usage every 10 seconds (could be a scheduled task or telemetry).
  • GPU usage spikes or drops that align with the stutter.

🧰 5. Clean Boot Windows

To rule out third-party interference:

  1. Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
  2. Under Services, check Hide all Microsoft services, then click Disable all.
  3. Go to Startup > Open Task Manager, and disable all startup items.
  4. Restart and test Roblox.

If the stutter still returns, I can help you create a custom Roblox launch profile or explore GPU scheduling tweaks. You’ve been incredibly thorough already—let’s keep going until it’s smooth sailing again.

Thanks for hanging in there, and I really hear your frustration—especially since you've already tried so many smart fixes. The fact that the stuttering only happens in Roblox and started after a BIOS update strongly suggests this is a BIOS-level power or GPU handoff issue, not a problem with your drivers or Roblox itself.

Here’s what I found that could help you move forward:

What You Can Do Right Now

1. Reflash or Roll Back the BIOS

  • Go to the HP Drivers & Downloads page for your Victus model.
  • Scroll to the BIOS section.
  • Click “Previous versions” (bottom left of the BIOS section) to find an earlier BIOS version.
  • Use the HP BIOS Recovery Tool to roll back or reflash the BIOS.

Even if you stay on the same version, reflashing can help if the update didn’t apply cleanly.

2. Force Roblox to Use Only the NVIDIA GPU

You mentioned both GPUs are active—let’s force Roblox to use just the dedicated one:

  • Open NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings.
  • Add RobloxPlayerBeta.exe.
  • Set Preferred graphics processor to High-performance NVIDIA processor.

3. Disable Intel GPU Temporarily (for testing)

If the stutter disappears when Intel UHD is disabled, that confirms a GPU switching conflict. You can:

  • Disable Intel UHD Graphics in Device Manager (temporarily).
  • Test Roblox again.

If this fixes it, we can explore a more permanent solution like disabling hybrid graphics in BIOS (if your BIOS supports it).

Keep me posted.

The hp whatsapp support remotely control my laptop and reflash bios but I want to ask a thing that my victus have windows 11H2 and he download windows 11 bios is it ok ?

Hey @Harsh204,

thank you for your response,

My colleague @Hawks_Eye is currently out, but don't worry – I’ll be taking over and making sure we get this sorted for you.

Generally, BIOS updates are hardware-specific, not version-specific to Windows. So, as long as the BIOS update is designed for your specific model of Victus, it should be fine, regardless of whether you're using Windows 11H2 or any other Windows 11 version. The BIOS update typically improves system stability, compatibility, and performance, not the OS itself.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
