Hi @Harsh204

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing all those details—it really helps paint a clear picture. It’s especially frustrating when a game like Roblox, which usually runs smoothly, starts stuttering every 10 seconds after a BIOS update, even though other games are fine.

You’ve already tried a lot of smart steps, so let’s build on that with a few more suggestions:

🧠 1. Adjust Roblox’s Graphics Mode

Roblox sometimes struggles with hybrid GPU setups:

  1. Open Roblox.
  2. Go to Settings > Graphics Mode.
  3. Set it to Manual, then lower the Graphics Quality to 4 or below.
  4. Save and restart the game.

🎮 2. Force Roblox to Use NVIDIA GPU

Even if both GPUs are active, Roblox might still default to Intel:

  1. Open NVIDIA Control Panel.
  2. Go to Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings.
  3. Add RobloxPlayerBeta.exe (found in C:\Users\[YourName]\AppData\Local\Roblox\Versions\[latest]\).
  4. Set Preferred graphics processor to High-performance NVIDIA processor.

🔄 3. Roll Back or Reflash BIOS (if available)

Since the issue began after a BIOS update:

  • Check HP’s Drivers & Downloads page for your model.
  • If an earlier BIOS version is listed, you can roll back using HP’s BIOS recovery tool.
  • Alternatively, reflashing the current BIOS version might help if the update didn’t apply cleanly.

🧪 4. Monitor Background Activity

Use Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to check for:

  • High CPU or disk usage every 10 seconds (could be a scheduled task or telemetry).
  • GPU usage spikes or drops that align with the stutter.

🧰 5. Clean Boot Windows

To rule out third-party interference:

  1. Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
  2. Under Services, check Hide all Microsoft services, then click Disable all.
  3. Go to Startup > Open Task Manager, and disable all startup items.
  4. Restart and test Roblox.

If the stutter still returns, I can help you create a custom Roblox launch profile or explore GPU scheduling tweaks. You’ve been incredibly thorough already—let’s keep going until it’s smooth sailing again.
