Dear HP Support Team,
I own an HP Victus 15-fa0xxx gaming laptop and have been trying to run Linux (Debian KDE) on it. Unfortunately, the system’s sleep (suspend) functionality does not work properly on Linux.
The laptop only supports the modern standby sleep state (s2idle), and the legacy deep sleep state (S3) is not available or configurable in the BIOS. As a result, when I put the laptop to sleep on Linux, the screen goes black but the system does not truly suspend — fans continue running, battery drains quickly, and sometimes the system does not resume correctly.
I kindly request HP to provide a BIOS update or option to enable legacy S3 sleep mode or improve Linux compatibility with power management on this model.
This issue significantly affects Linux users and limits the usability of your otherwise excellent hardware.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.
