Hi there,
I have received a USB drive to revert my laptop back to its original condition when I first bought it. However, I am receiving an error saying:
This computer is not supported by the System Recovery Media.
You will not be able to continue to recover this system with these Media.
Error:
0100 - 87B1 - 86D4,86D5,86D6
When this first happened to me I called up HP and they sent me another USB stick. However, I am still having this issue even with the new one.
Are there any solutions available?
Many thanks,
Ochai

So update me on whats going on. What happened now that you are having to reinstall Windows? Last we talked, you were just going to ask Support about a wifi card replacement. Are they suggesting you reinstall Windows instead? I doubt thats going to solve that issue, but ok worth a shot.
Incidentally, they sent you two recovery USBs since? How big is the USB drive in gigabytes?

I called them up about potentially replacing the WIFI card/ getting an external adapter, and they asked me to perform some diagnostic on the WIFI adapter but it said that there were no issues, so they suggested resetting my laptop to its original conditions when I first purchased it. The USBs are 16GB.

Do you know how to access the bios?
If you rapidly tap the F10 key on reboot, it should open the bios.
Probably under System configuration >Boot Options, see if Legacy Support is enabled. If it is, disable it.
If its already disabled, try enabling it and turning off Secure Boot. Save and Exit. (Secure Boot off will ask you to enter some numbers on reboot, this is normal)
Test the installer again.

OK no Legacy. I know some systems were already getting Legacy removed, didn't know which ones.
I would try wiping one of those USB drives HP sent and putting the direct Windows installer from Microsoft on it.
Run this link and download the installer, then double click that file and run it with one of those USB sticks inserted.
Create media Windows 10 Then try installing Windows again.
It will wipe the usb drive and create the installer. You do not need to know the activation key. It will activate when connected to the internet checking for updates.
Tips:
- If you don't want a Microsoft account to boot to, just turn your internet off until Windows is fully installed.
- When you install from the MS installer, choose a custom install and manually delete all the drive partitions before continuing with the install.
- If you have more than one drive installed, its best to disconnect the storage drive first before installing windows.

You can download HP Recovery Manager on your computer and use it to run system recovery. Besides, Windows 10 built-in feature "Reset this PC" also enables you to reinstall Windows while either preserving your personal data or removing everything.

@Lily_Gr That is incorrect. You don't download and install an HP Recovery manager partition. The information you linked to from Aomei was for older operating systems. HP has not included the HP Recovery since Windows 10.
There is the HP Cloud Recovery that will create a an installer to a 32GB USB instead.
The reset function does not always clear out settings or malicious things, ergo why I posted a clean install.
I have noticed you are posting links to Aomei all over the forum though, so you are either an employee for Aomei, or someone who has never actually done the process you linked to.
