Hi @dark5087knight,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand your HP Victus 15-fa2013dx freezes, crashes, or shows a blue screen after a few minutes of use or while gaming. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.
a. Perform a Power Reset
Shut down the laptop completely.
Disconnect the charger and any connected devices.
Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to drain residual power.
Reconnect only the power adapter and turn it on again.
b. Check for Overheating & Vent Blockage
Make sure the laptop is placed on a hard, flat surface with proper airflow.
Clean the air vents gently using a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust buildup.
If the fans are unusually loud or system is very hot before freezing, overheating may be the cause.
c. Update or Reinstall Graphics Drivers
Open Device Manager > Display Adapters.
Right-click your NVIDIA/Intel GPU and select Uninstall device → Delete driver software.
Restart your laptop and install the latest drivers from HP Support or NVIDIA/Intel website (based on your GPU).
d. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
Shut down the laptop.
Restart and immediately press the F2 key repeatedly to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
Run the System Test → Extensive Test to check memory, storage, and motherboard.
If any test fails, note the failure ID.
I hope this helps.
