Hi there , so i bought this laptop 3 months ago but realised lately that the laptop tgp is locked at 50 watt , which is terribly low kinda . I had mentioned the instagram account of HP and they kept on telling a lot of rubbish solutions then correcting themselves by saying "it cant be done" . the actual tgp is promised to be 75 but it is locked at 50 watt. what to do . the laptop is i5 13th gen 3050 6gb vram with 16 gb vram
PS: i know it is limited as for to control heating and imrpove overall life and all but the thing is both fans are directly under fan ( which is another yucky drawback of victus) cooling the gpu very much while the cpu is in hell . so i wouldnt mind a bit more temps on the gpu . just do something about this problem , its such a scam and shameful from HP .
also ddr4? man wow.

Welcome to our HP Community forum!
I understand your concern regarding the GPU power (TGP) limits on your Victus (?) laptop. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 in your system is factory-configured by HP to operate within specific power and thermal envelopes to balance performance, thermals, and system longevity.
Although the RTX 3050 supports higher TGPs in general (up to 75-watt on some designs), each manufacturer can set its own limits based on the laptop's cooling capacity and power delivery design. In this case, the 50-watt TGP setting is by design and cannot be raised through BIOS or software.
A few suggestions to help you get the best possible performance:
Keep BIOS and graphics drivers updated via HP Support – Software and Drivers.
Use HP OMEN Gaming Hub → Performance Control → set to Performance mode (if available).
Ensure your laptop's vents and fans are clean and unobstructed to maintain optimal cooling.
If you need a higher-power GPU configuration, check HP's Victus or OMEN variants with RTX 4060/4070 GPUs, which have higher TGP designs.
- Use a laptop cooling pad.
The DDR4 vs DDR5 memory choice depends on the platform variant -DDR4 models are typically priced lower and remain very capable for most gaming workloads.
I know it probably is disappointing when expectations differ from reality, but HP's design choices here are deliberate trade-offs to ensure stability and reliability. Look, you can't accuse HP from being a "scam" and being "shameful", when you clearly chose to buy a starter system and not a high(er)-end gaming laptop platform. It's like buying a Subaru and then complaining it is not a BMW.
Just saying.
Kind Regards,
