The laptop screen has a vertical lines on both side(left side red and right side blue) that is permanently there, even when booting up. The laptop is in warranty, so how do I get this fixed?

Hi @thummar_ankit,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your laptop screen has vertical lines on both sides that persist even during boot-up, it likely indicates a hardware issue, possibly with the display itself or its connection. Since your laptop is still under warranty, follow these steps to get it fixed:

1. Document the Issue

Take Photos:

  • Take clear photos or screenshots of the vertical lines on the screen. This can be useful when communicating the issue to support.

Note Occurrences:

  • Make a note of when the issue occurs (e.g., always present, appears after a specific action, etc.).

2. Check for External Damage

Inspect Physical Damage:

  • Ensure there are no signs of physical damage to the laptop screen or body that might have caused the issue.

Check External Connections:

  • If you use any external monitors, disconnect them to ensure the issue is not related to external hardware.

3. Perform Basic Troubleshooting

Restart the Laptop:

  • Restart your laptop to see if the issue persists after a reboot.

Update Drivers:

  • Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. You can update drivers through the laptop manufacturer's website or device manager.

Check Display Settings:

  • Go to Settings > System > Display and check if adjusting display settings has any effect on the issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
