The left speaker on my notebook keeps "popping", especially with people's voices during videos. Ever since I bought the notebook, this speaker has been like this

Hi @joaolima,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like there could be a hardware issue with your left speaker, especially since the popping noise has been present since you first got the laptop. Here are a few things you can try to diagnose or fix the issue.
Check Audio Settings:
- Go to your laptop’s audio settings and make sure the sound enhancements are turned off. Sometimes features like virtual surround sound can cause issues like popping noises.
- You can also test different sound profiles (like Music or Movie modes) to see if it helps.
Update Audio Drivers:
- Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause sound issues. Go to Device Manager, find your audio device, and check if there are any updates available for the drivers. You can also visit the HP support site for your specific model and download the latest drivers.
Check for Software Interference:
- If you're using a specific video player or web browser, try switching to another one to see if the issue persists.
- Try disabling any audio-related software, like Dolby Atmos or Realtek audio enhancements, to check if these are causing the popping.
Test with Headphones:
- Plug in a pair of headphones or external speakers to see if the popping sound still occurs. If it doesn't, this confirms the issue is with the laptop's internal speaker.
Perform a Hardware Diagnostic:
- HP laptops often come with built-in diagnostics tools. Try running the HP Hardware Diagnostics (you can access this by pressing F2 during boot-up) to check if there's any issue with the audio hardware.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
