I've tried every method in Device Manager and even downloaded the WLAN driver from the HP site, but it still doesn't work.

Hi @uceruka

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The Code 10 error in Device Manager indicates that the operating system was unable to start a hardware device, and in this case, it's related to your network adapter. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

Restart your computer: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches. Make sure to restart your HP Pavilion and see if the issue persists.

Update Network Adapter Drivers:

  • Visit the HP support website and ensure you have the latest drivers for your network adapter.
  • Download and install the latest drivers. Even if it says the drivers are up-to-date, reinstalling them might help.
  • If you can't find the latest drivers on the HP website, you can go to the device manager, right-click on the network adapter with the issue, and choose "Update driver."

Rollback Drivers:

  • If you recently updated your network adapter drivers and the issue started afterward, you can try rolling back to the previous version. In the device manager, right-click on the network adapter, choose "Properties," go to the "Driver" tab, and click on "Roll Back Driver" if available.

Uninstall and Reinstall the Network Adapter:

  • In the device manager, right-click on the network adapter and choose "Uninstall device."
  • After uninstalling, restart your computer. Windows will automatically reinstall the driver.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Make sure your operating system is up-to-date by checking for Windows updates. Sometimes, Microsoft releases updates that include fixes for device driver issues.

System Restore:

  • If the problem started recently, you can try using System Restore to revert your system to a state where the network adapter was working.
  • To perform a system restore, type "System Restore" in the Windows search bar and follow the on-screen instructions.

Check for Hardware Issues:

  • If none of the software solutions work, there may be a hardware problem with your network adapter.

Check for Software Conflicts:

  • Sometimes, third-party software or security applications can interfere with network operations. Try disabling antivirus/firewall temporarily to see if it makes a difference.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
