HP Omen 15 EN1003NO

I just bought a HP Omen 15 (model EN1003NO) with Windows 10 and a touchpad. It runs fine, but it seems to have some kind of driver configuration set that locks the Synaptics touchpad while any key on the keyboard is pressed.

Normally laptops come with a touchpad driver configuration interface that allows users to edit this settings, but on this laptop model there is no such interface. For instance, there's no extra "Touchpad"- or "Synaptics"-tab in the control panel's mouse settings window, and there's no dedicated configuration software bundled by the PC vendor.

I've tried a multitude of troubleshooting steps for two full days, including reinstalls, calling HP's support, editing registry keys and installing all sorts of drivers and vendor software, but nothing has worked so far.

Does anyone know how to solve this issue?
