@Muhammed30, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
From what you’ve described and from the image, here's what’s happening:
Your USB Type-C port was working fine with a headset and Android phone. After plugging in your iPhone 13, the port stopped detecting your headset and Android. Now in Device Manager, under “Other devices,” there are two unknown devices labeled JL_SPP — this appeared after the issue.
⚠️ What the JL_SPP Device Indicates:
JL_SPP typically relates to a USB-to-serial or proprietary communication driver. It might be something your iPhone tried to initialize (like a special Apple serial interface), but Windows couldn’t install a proper driver for it. This can corrupt or confuse the USB controller handling Type-C communication.
✅ Steps to Fix It:
Uninstall the JL_SPP Devices
- Right-click on both JL_SPP entries in Device Manager.
- Select Uninstall device.
- Make sure to check the box “Delete the driver software for this device” if available.
- Reboot your laptop.
Reinstall the USB Controller Drivers
- In Device Manager, expand “Universal Serial Bus controllers”.
- Right-click each USB Root Hub or USB Host Controller and choose Uninstall device.
- Do not uninstall anything labeled with Bluetooth or your mouse/keyboard if you're using USB input.
- Reboot — Windows will automatically reinstall the USB drivers.
Install the Latest Chipset Drivers (Important)
- Go to HP’s support page for your model:
- Download and install:
- Intel Chipset Installation Utility
- Intel Serial IO Driver
- Intel Thunderbolt/USB Type-C Controller Driver (if available)
Reset the USB Stack (Optional but Helpful)
You can use Microsoft’s USB troubleshooter or manually reset with PowerShell. If you want help with this step, let me know!
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
