My laptop's Bluetooth is not working, and the MediaTek Bluetooth Adapter is showing Code 43 in Device Manager. I have tried restarting the laptop and disabling/enabling the adapter, but the issue still persists.

Hi  @itzmeram

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that your laptop's Bluetooth is currently not working and that the MediaTek Bluetooth Adapter is showing a Code 43 error in Device Manager. I appreciate you already trying to restart the laptop and disable/enable the adapter.

I also have a few questions that will help us understand the issue further:

  1. Is the Bluetooth option completely missing from Windows Settings, or does it appear but fail to connect to devices?
  2. Are other wireless functions such as Wi-Fi working normally?
  3. Have you noticed any unknown devices or warning symbols in Device Manager besides the MediaTek Bluetooth Adapter?

In the meantime, kindly try the below steps and confirm :

Step 1: Perform a Full Power Reset - Click here for steps

  1. Shut down the laptop.
  2. Disconnect the charger and any external devices.
  3. Press and hold the Power button for 15-20 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the charger and start the laptop.

Step 2: Run HP Hardware Diagnostics - Click here for steps

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Turn it back on and repeatedly tap F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
  3. Run the available system tests and let us know if any failure IDs are reported.

Step 3: Reinstall the Bluetooth Driver

  1. Open Device Manager.
  2. Expand Bluetooth.
  3. Right-click the MediaTek Bluetooth Adapter and select Uninstall device.
  4. Check Delete the driver software for this device if available.
  5. Restart the laptop.
  6. Visit the HP Support website and install the latest Bluetooth and Wireless LAN drivers for your model.

Step 4: Check Windows Bluetooth Services

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  2. Locate Bluetooth Support Service.
  3. Ensure it is set to Automatic and is Running.
  4. Restart the service if necessary.

I hope this helps.
