HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec1xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey, I have this HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec1xxx, for which I received an update for Windows version 2004. I have updated to the latest BIOS F.11-07/22/2020. However, it crashes when installing the updated with a BSOD and it reverts back to the old version. The earlier BIOS mentioned that it supports v2004, however it does not seem to work. This is the next version and ideally it should work. Does anybody face this issue? How to mitigate it?

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details and I would appreciate if you could, perhaps elaborate on your concern.

  • What is the product number of your computer?
  • What is the version of BIOS installed on your computer?
  • What is the exact error message you are getting when installing the BIOS?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

Look forward to hearing from you and you have a great day!

Take care.

Cheers!

@The_Fossette, I was able to install Windows Update 2004 only by using the recovery tool. There were no other options available. I tried every troubleshooting step. The BIOS was updated to the latest version. Nothing was working. Last option, it worked only when I used the recovery tool. I had to reinstall every software I need once again.
