Hello new here,

I recently upgraded my HP Omen 16 (2022 model) to Windows 11, and since then, I’ve noticed an unusual stuttering during gaming. It happens intermittently, even in games that used to run smoothly on Windows 10, like Apex Legends and Cyberpunk 2077. The FPS drops for a second or two, causing a lag spike, and then returns to normal.

I’ve already tried updating the GPU drivers (RTX 3060), tweaking power settings to high performance, and disabling background apps, but the issue persists. The laptop doesn’t seem to be overheating, as the temps stay in the normal range. Could this be a compatibility issue with Windows 11, or is there something I’m missing?

Has anyone else faced this problem and found a solution? Any help would be appreciated!

Hello, new here as well.

Similar issue in my case. I recently bought an HP Omen 16 (November 2024) and I experienced the same unusual stuttering during gaming. Every couple of minutes, the FPS drops for a couple of seconds, causing a lag spike, and then returns to normal. It is certainly not a network connectivity issue at home or with the provider, as I have another desktop PC  that runs the same games smoothly without any issues.

I've already tried updating the GPU and network drivers and also did a reset to factory settings, but the issue persists. The laptop doesn’t seem to be overheating, as the temps stay in the normal range. Could this be a compatibility issue with Windows 11 24H2, or is there something I’m missing?
