What is your hp omen 15 dc 2018 ? Anyway, I'm using my machine which is an HP Omen 15-dc0071tx to answer your question. My machine has dual storage
You can safely use Samsung 970 EVO M.2 NVMe SSD drive or Crucial
https://www.crucial.com/ssd/p5/ct1000p5ssd8/ct18124197 (1TB)
https://www.crucial.com/ssd/p5/ct500p5ssd8/ct18121060 (500GB)
You can install Windows 10 to SSD and it will activate itself automatically when online using Windows License key in BIOS of your machine
Regards.
