Yes, the drive I posted will work fine.

Your notebook must have come with the old style NVMe SSD with two notches.

A lot of those were only PCIe Gen 3.0 x 2 and not x 4.

The parts list indicates that is the type of drive HP installed.

L71933-001
SSD M.2 2280 BC501 256GB Gen 3x2

However, the 15-ec model series will support PCIe Gen 3 x 4 NVMe SSD's.

You're missing some letters from the model number.

thank you

You're very welcome.

OK, so you want to replace the 256 GB M.2 NVMe SSD with a 500 GB drive and upgrade the memory, correct?

The notebook comes with 1 x 8 GB of DDR4-2400 memory according to the specs:

HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec0013dx

The parts list indicates HP installed a DDR4-2666 memory chip in your notebook which runs at 2400 MHz.

HP PartSurfer

You can upgrade the memory to a maximum of 2 x 16 GB or you can just add a second 8 GB memory chip in the empty slot.

Two of these chips should work if you want to max out the memory.

Timetec 16GB DDR4 2666MHz PC4-21300 Non-ECC Unbuffered 1.2V CL19 2Rx8 Dual Rank 260 Pin SODIMM Lapto...

If you just want 16 GB (2 x 8 GB), you can install this 8 GB chip:

Timetec 8GB DDR4 2666MHz (DDR4-2666) PC4-21300 Non-ECC Unbuffered 1.2V CL19 1Rx8 Single Rank 260 Pin...

SSD:

I'd go with this one for that price:

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

Please post back and let us know about the results of your memory upgrade project.

The SSD model I posted should be about double the performance of the OEM drive HP installed.

Sorry to bother you but I’m very new to all this .
Can I install windows 11 on my pavilion 15-ec0013dx with  new m2. Ssd  that you recommended ? Or should I stay with the original windows10 ?

HP Recommended

Yes, you should be able to install W11, and it would be a good idea because W10 goes out of support in two weeks.
