Yes, the drive I posted will work fine.
Your notebook must have come with the old style NVMe SSD with two notches.
A lot of those were only PCIe Gen 3.0 x 2 and not x 4.
The parts list indicates that is the type of drive HP installed.
| L71933-001 | SSD M.2 2280 BC501 256GB Gen 3x2 |
However, the 15-ec model series will support PCIe Gen 3 x 4 NVMe SSD's.

You're very welcome.
OK, so you want to replace the 256 GB M.2 NVMe SSD with a 500 GB drive and upgrade the memory, correct?
The notebook comes with 1 x 8 GB of DDR4-2400 memory according to the specs:
HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec0013dx
The parts list indicates HP installed a DDR4-2666 memory chip in your notebook which runs at 2400 MHz.
You can upgrade the memory to a maximum of 2 x 16 GB or you can just add a second 8 GB memory chip in the empty slot.
Two of these chips should work if you want to max out the memory.
If you just want 16 GB (2 x 8 GB), you can install this 8 GB chip:

I'd go with this one for that price:

Anytime.
Glad to have been of assistance.
Please post back and let us know about the results of your memory upgrade project.
The SSD model I posted should be about double the performance of the OEM drive HP installed.
