Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-r0000 (76T06AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

So I bought this laptop recently, and I do really like it. The price-to-performance is amazing for the features. But it has one problem that other gaming laptops don't have. This laptop only has one single undervolting option, that it is specifically just for the P-cores. There is no undervolting the E-cores and there is no undervolting the cache as well.

These laptops are struggling to sell, hence hundreds of them available as "refurbished" from stores. HP uses terrible thermal paste, the laptop heats up very quickly. So my question is, why is undervolting specifically blocked on this laptop and can we have it unlocked? By selling this laptop with terrible thermal paste, HP allows this laptop to quickly overheat and thermal throttle, which any computer person knows means it is harming the life of the system. At the least, we should be able to undervolt it to help reduce temperatures a bit. What is the harm in that?

This laptop would be so much better if it had those options. Do you know that some of the #1 scores for RTX4060-mobile 3DMark TimeSpy scores are with HP laptops - https://www.3dmark.com/spy/45042778 -? Think of how much better they could be if they supported undervolting. People literally buy laptops based on things like "fan loudness", "temperaure", "benchmarks", etc. All of these things go hand-in-hand with consumer satisfaction and sales.

Less voltage = less heat = more gaming performance

Less voltage = longer battery life

Less voltage = less heat = quieter fans

Less voltage = less heat = better benchmarks and helps the laptop stand out from others

Another cool thing would be to allow the fan speed to go below 30% of whatever the minimum is. My laptop can be idling at 32C and it still has audible fans.

 Hi @MOCCOR,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

Splendid analysis and remarkable patience were shown. It is immensely appreciated.

To get the answer to this question, we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now.
I would request you to reach out to our phone support

So I had 1 HP person from chat support say to make a post about a feature request, and then I had 1 HP support say I gotta call up HP support for "remote assistance" even though I asked about a simple feature all other gaming laptops have. To be honest I gotta say the support and website of HP is easily its worst experience I have ever used.

A convoluted website that is a pain to find drivers or enter serial numbers, and support that just say random unhelpful things lol. I am not even sure why someone from support would say "reach out to phone support" instead of simply saying "we don't do feature requests" or "we will not unlock voltage control that other laptop brands have". Disappointed but not surprised.
