Anyone have Victus Gaming Laptop 15-fb0089AX Old BIOS firmware? windows update the bios to latest version. Now the battery is stuck at 46% and powers off when charger is unplugged. Don't also turn on when in battery only. Current version is F.22 Rev.A

Things tried.
1. Reinstalled ACPI under batteries in device manager.

2. Unplugged and replugged battery.
3. Reset bios settings to default.

Unfortunately there is no back up of the old firmware.

Bios f.03 to f.22  are here

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/swdetails/victus-by-hp-15.6-inch-gaming-laptop-15-fb0000/model/...

problem:

Provides the 2024.2 security enhancement. NOTE: After this BIOS update is installed, previous BIOS versions cannot be reinstalled.

Battery should last about 5 years but less for gaming systems. Have you done a battery calibration?

let me know what you find out.

Does that mean I cant try lower versions due to the NOTE: After this BIOS update is installed, previous BIOS versions cannot be reinstalled.?

Laptop is only a year and 4 months. And battery is working before this update.

Not yet can't calibrate when it is not powering via battery only or shutsoff when charger is unplugged and stuck at 46% not charging or discharging at least based on percentage.

Ill try again this Sunday when the laptop is returned to me.

Run the battery test

Have you run diagnostics?
Tap the ESC key after powering on. . Tap it once a second after you see the LEDs on the keyboard flash. When you see the startup menu, press F2 to run diagnostics.

HP releases newer UEFI diagnostics periodically.
When you select F2 during boot you are requesting UEFI diagnostics.
There is an updated diagnostics package Click Here
Look for the phrase 'issues outside the OS',
Expand the '+' symbol and click the DOWNLOAD button.
