Hi @Gettanshi12
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
If you're experiencing issues with the speaker on your HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop, try these troubleshooting steps before considering repairs:
Since you’re using an HP Pavilion Gaming laptop, here’s a structured set of steps to help you troubleshoot the issue:
Step-by-Step: Fix Speaker Not Working on HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop
1. Check Basic Audio Settings
- Make sure the volume isn’t muted or set too low.
- Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar → Open Sound Settings → Ensure the correct output device (e.g., “Speakers – Realtek”) is selected.
- Disconnect any Bluetooth or wired headphones that might be redirecting sound.
2. Run Windows Audio Troubleshooter
- Go to Settings > System > Sound > Troubleshoot.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to detect and fix common audio issues.
3. Restart Windows Audio Services
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
- Find Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder.
- Right-click each → Restart.
4. Update or Reinstall Audio Drivers
- Open Device Manager → Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
- Right-click your audio device (e.g., Realtek High Definition Audio) → Update driver → Choose Search automatically.
- If that doesn’t help, try Uninstall device, then restart your laptop to reinstall it automatically.
5. Disable Audio Enhancements
- Go to Control Panel > Sound > Playback tab.
- Select your speakers → Click Properties → Go to Enhancements tab → Check Disable all enhancements.
6. BIOS & HP Diagnostics
- Make sure your BIOS is up to date via HP Support Assistant.
- Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly to enter HP Diagnostics.
- Run the Audio Test to check for hardware faults.
If None of These Work…
If the diagnostics show a hardware fault or the issue persists after all software fixes, it’s likely a physical speaker issue. In that case, I can guide you to HP’s repair options or help you find a local service center.
Let me know how far you get with these steps, and I’ll help you take the next move. You’ve got this!
