I purchased the Victus Gaming Laptop 15-fb1003nx last week and the webcam is so freaking bad! how in 2024 can a cam be so bad? The image is grainy and washed out in all lighting conditions. Its actually shameful. What can we do to improve this terrible built in cam?

Hi @randywhorton,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It's understandably frustrating when a component of a new device, like the webcam on your HP Victus Gaming Laptop, doesn't meet your expectations. We do not intend to let you down.
To improve the webcam experience on your laptop, here are a few suggestions:
External Webcam: Consider purchasing a high-quality external webcam. There are many options available that can provide superior video quality for streaming, video calls, and content creation.
Software Enhancements: Some software solutions can enhance the video quality by adjusting settings like brightness, contrast, and sharpness or by using filters. Look for webcam utility software or third-party applications designed to improve video quality.
Lighting Adjustments: Proper lighting can significantly improve webcam quality. Ensure your face is well-lit and avoid backlighting from windows or other light sources behind you. Sometimes, a simple change in the lighting setup can make a substantial difference.
Check for Updates: Ensure your laptop's drivers and firmware are up to date. Sometimes, HP release updates that can improve the performance of built-in components, including webcams.
