Hello Everyone!

Wi-Fi disconnecting and disappearing when I play game such as Fortnite !!! I have to shut down the laptop and restart to be able to see available wifi connections every time. But  there is no issue when I connect via ethernet. I have reset my laptop twice and re-installed windows twice already and in addition I got uninstalled and re-installed wifi card drivers already and it didn't help.

 

Can someone please help to fix this issue permanently  ?

Hi, Turgay:

 

I see from the parts list for your notebook that it has the dreaded Realtek RTL8822BE Wi-Fi adapter.

 

If I had a dollar for every post I have read regarding the various model Realtek Wi-Fi adapters, I would be rich.

 

The only suggestion I can offer other than replacing that model card with a better one, would be to install the latest driver HP has for the RTL8822BE:

 

2024.0.10.227

If you want to upgrade the Wi-Fi adapter, you should be able to replace the Realtek card with this model:

 

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro 160 MHz PCI-e     HP part # L35282-005

 

You can find the above model Wi-Fi card on eBay.  Search by the HP part number, not the model of the Wi-Fi card.

Thanks for the advice. I decided to buy an internal Wi-Fi adapter.

Can you please kindly provide a product link on Ebay or Amazon that I can go ahead and purchase directly from that link as I am having difficulty to find the right one with the HP part# that has been provided.

Since the time of my last reply, HP released a newer driver for that card you may want to try out.

The above driver will install version 2024.10.227.2, 08/18/2022

 

I see several AX200's for sale on eBay.ca.

 

The shipping charges are pretty steep though.

 

L35282-005 for sale | eBay

 

You can also buy one new from HP directly for $44.09 CAD, which is even more expensive than the ones on eBay including the exorbitant shipping charges.
