My Bluetooth Wi-Fi, which used to work perfectly, is now experiencing connection problems and disconnecting on its own. I don't know the reason; can you help? My device driver is MediaTek MT7921 Wi-Fi 802.11ax PCIe Adapter.

Hi @Emre41,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Your Victus 16‑e1000 is a powerful gaming machine, and when Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth suddenly start disconnecting, you didn’t do anything wrong. This issue is with the MediaTek MT7921 Wi‑Fi/Bluetooth adapter, and we can fix it with the right steps. Let’s walk through this step by step.

Step 1: Restart the Network Adapter

A gentle reset can wake the MT7921 chip.

  1. Press Windows + X
  2. Click Device Manager
  3. Expand Network Adapters
  4. Right‑click MediaTek MT7921
  5. Select Disable Device
  6. Wait 10 seconds
  7. Select Enable Device

If your Wi‑Fi reconnects immediately, the driver was stuck.

Step 2: Turn Off Power Saving for the Adapter (IMPORTANT)

Windows sometimes “throttles” the Wi‑Fi chip to save power, this causes disconnects.

  1. Open Device Manager
  2. Right‑click MediaTek MT7921
  3. Choose Properties
  4. Open the Power Management tab
  5. Uncheck:
✔ “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”

Do the same for Bluetooth under Bluetooth → MT7921 Bluetooth Adapter.

This prevents random drops.

Step 3: Update the Driver (MediaTek is VERY Sensitive to Versions)

This is the #1 fix for this adapter.

  1. In Device Manager
  2. Right‑click MediaTek MT7921
  3. Select Update driver → Browse my computer → Let me pick
  4. Choose the newest driver in the list
  5. Restart your PC

If the newest one doesn’t help, try the next older one.

Step 4: Reset the Windows Network Stack

This repairs corrupted Wi‑Fi profiles.

  1. Press Windows + S
  2. Type cmd
  3. Right‑click → “Run as administrator”
  4. Type these commands one by one: netsh winsock reset
                                                                   netsh int ip reset
                                                                   ipconfig /flushdns

Restart your PC.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
