I opened up my laptop tonight and the WiFi option is gone, it just keeps telling me to set up the ethernet cable. Any of the answers I've seen don't work because almost every mention of WiFi is gone in the system.

Hi @Rene98 ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the WiFi option and settings are missing on your HP Victus 15.6 laptop, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue. Here are some suggestions:
Restart your laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix temporary glitches. Shut down your laptop, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
Check the physical switch or button: Some laptops have physical switches or buttons to enable or disable wireless connectivity. Ensure that the WiFi switch/button is turned on. Refer to your laptop's user manual for the exact location of this switch or button.
Use keyboard shortcuts: Laptops often have keyboard shortcuts to toggle WiFi on or off. Look for a key combination on your keyboard that corresponds to the wireless function (usually involving the "Fn" key).
Check in Settings: If you can access settings, go to "Settings" > "Network & Internet" and check for the WiFi option. If it's disabled, enable it. Also, look for any airplane mode settings and make sure it's turned off.
Device Manager: Open the Device Manager on your laptop and check if the wireless network adapter is listed and enabled. If it's disabled, right-click on it and choose "Enable." If it's not listed, there may be an issue with the driver.
Update or reinstall wireless drivers: Outdated or corrupted wireless drivers can cause connectivity issues. Go to the Device Manager, find the network adapters section, right-click on your wireless adapter, and select "Update driver." If that doesn't work, you might need to uninstall the driver and then reinstall it.
System Restore: If the issue started recently, you can try using System Restore to revert your system to a point when the WiFi was working. This will undo recent changes to your system.
Reset network settings: In some cases, resetting network settings can resolve issues. Go to "Settings" > "Network &
Internet" > "Status," and under the "Network reset" section, click on "Reset now."
Check for Windows updates: Ensure that your operating system is up-to-date. Sometimes, updates include fixes for known issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
