Hi,
I'm having a huge problem with Bluetooth on my HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 16-a0000 (9EK05AV). After installing Windows 11 from 10, I completely lost Bluetooth on my laptop. I need it for everyday work, and installing the drivers available online doesn't solve the problem. I don't have Bluetooth at all, even in Device Manager. I'm asking for help.

Try these steps:
Verify Bluetooth in Device Manager
Open Device Manager:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager from the menu.

- Click on View in the Device Manager toolbar and select Show hidden devices.
Scan for Hardware Changes:
- Right-click on the Bluetooth section, if available, and choose Scan for hardware changes.
Reinstall or Update Bluetooth Drivers
Uninstall Existing Drivers:
- In Device Manager, right-click on any Bluetooth-related entries and select Uninstall Device.
- Check the box for "Delete the driver software for this device" if prompted.
Install Latest Drivers:
- Visit the official HP Support website and navigate to the drivers section for your specific laptop model (HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 16-a0000).

Enable Bluetooth from BIOS
Access BIOS Settings:
- Restart your laptop and press Esc or F10 (or another key as prompted during startup) to enter the BIOS menu.
Enable Bluetooth:
- Navigate to the Advanced or Security tab, depending on your BIOS version.
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled. Save and exit the BIOS settings.

Hi,
Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately, it's not useful at the moment, as I don't have Bluetooth in Device Manager, and that's the problem.
After upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11, it completely removed the driver and Bluetooth access, and that's the problem.
I can't download the driver from your website because it's only available for Windows 10 and doesn't change anything. I need the appropriate driver for Windows 11.
Please, help me with this issue - its very important.
Have a nice day

Hi @Agatens,
Thank you so much for your clear reply.
I truly understand how frustrating it is to lose Bluetooth, especially when it’s essential for your daily work. Let’s get this sorted step by step.
Here’s what’s happening
When upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11, sometimes the Bluetooth adapter driver for older Intel or Realtek chipsets is not included in the Windows 11 package automatically. If the device is not listed under Device Manager, Windows cannot detect the hardware correctly.
Next steps to try
Check under “Hidden Devices” again
Open Device Manager → View → Show hidden devices
Expand Network adapters, Other devices, or Unknown devices — sometimes the Bluetooth adapter hides here as an unknown device or shows an error icon.
If you find any “Unknown device” → Right click → Properties → Details → Hardware IDs → Copy the ID. Let me know what it says — I can help identify it!
Check BIOS / UEFI
Sometimes the adapter gets disabled:
Restart your laptop → Tap Esc repeatedly → Open BIOS (F10).
Under Advanced → Built-In Device Options, check if Bluetooth is enabled.
If disabled, enable it → Save & Exit.
Use HP Support Assistant
Download and run the HP Support Assistant.
Click Updates → Check for Updates and Messages.
Install any suggested Bluetooth or Wireless drivers. HP Support Assistant can detect compatible Windows 11 updates even if the website only lists Windows 10.
Install the Windows 10 driver anyway
In many cases, the Windows 10 Bluetooth driver works perfectly in Windows 11.
Download the Bluetooth driver for Windows 10 from your model’s HP driver page.
Right-click the installer → Properties → Compatibility → Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 10 → Apply → Run the installer as Administrator.
Restart your laptop.
Use Windows Update’s Optional Updates
Open Settings → Windows Update → Advanced Options → Optional Updates → Driver Updates.
If you see any Bluetooth or Wireless driver here → Check the box → Install.
I hope this helps.

Hi,
Thank you for your reply. Below are the comments on the actions you performed:
Check under “Hidden Devices” again
Open Device Manager → View → Show hidden devices
Bluetooth was nowhere to be found, nor were any hidden devices.
Check BIOS / UEFISometimes the adapter gets disabled:
Restart your laptop → Tap Esc repeatedly → Open BIOS (F10).
Under Advanced → Built-In Device Options, check if Bluetooth is enabled. If disabled, enable it → Save & Exit.
Unfortunately, I didn't see an "Advanced" section or the "Built-In Device Options" option anywhere.
Use HP Support Assistant
Download and run the HP Support Assistant.
Click Updates → Check for Updates and Messages.
Unfortunately, there are no updates.
Install the Windows 10 driver anyway
In many cases, the Windows 10 Bluetooth driver works perfectly in Windows 11.
Download the Bluetooth driver for Windows 10 from your model's HP driver page.
Right-click the installer → Properties → Compatibility → Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 10 → Apply → Run the installer as Administrator.
Restart your laptop.
I couldn't find the option to run the Windows 10 drivers in compatibility mode for Windows 10.
Use Windows Update's Optional Updates
Open Settings → Windows Update → Advanced Options → Optional Updates → Driver Updates.
If you see any Bluetooth or Wireless driver here → Check the box → Install.
No such options.
In the end, none of the suggestions worked. I need a driver for Windows 11 or something else. I need this Bluetooth 😭

Kuroi_Kenshi is away for now; however, I'm Hawks_Eye, and I'll be happy to help you out!
Thanks for hanging in there—I can feel how frustrating this has been, especially when Bluetooth is such a daily essential. Let’s try a few more targeted steps to help your Pavilion Gaming Laptop recognize its Bluetooth hardware again.
🧠 Step 1: Confirm Bluetooth Hardware Presence
Even if it’s not showing in Device Manager, let’s check if Windows still sees it:
- Press Windows + R, type msinfo32, and hit Enter.
- In System Information, expand Components > Problem Devices.
- Look for any entries related to Bluetooth or unknown devices.
If you spot something with a hardware ID, we can use that to identify the missing driver.
🔍 Step 2: Use HP’s Diagnostic Tools
- Visit the HP Pavilion Gaming 16-a0000 support page.
- Download and run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows.
- Run a Component Test > Wireless Module to check if the Bluetooth chip is physically detected.
🧰 Step 3: Try Intel’s Bluetooth Driver (If Applicable)
If your laptop uses an Intel wireless card:
- Download the latest Intel Bluetooth driver for Windows 11 from Intel’s official site.
- Run the installer as Administrator.
- Restart your laptop and check Device Manager again.
🧪 Step 4: Enable Bluetooth Support Services
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
- Find Bluetooth Support Service.
- Right-click > Properties > Set Startup type to Automatic.
- Click Start if it’s not running, then Apply.
🧼 Step 5: Reset BIOS to Defaults
If the Bluetooth toggle is missing:
- Restart and press Esc repeatedly > Enter BIOS (F10).
- Look for an option to Restore Defaults or Load Setup Defaults.
- Save and exit.
This can re-enable hidden hardware features.
If none of these steps bring Bluetooth back, the adapter may have failed or been disabled at a deeper firmware level. But let’s stay hopeful—your laptop’s got the muscle, and we’ll get it talking wirelessly again.
Let me know what you find in System Info or Diagnostics, and I’ll help you dig deeper!

Hi,
Thank you for your help.
Regarding the steps I've taken...
Step 1:
I don't have anything listed in the problem devices. I searched for Bluetooth in general and it shows it. Below are screenshots:
Step 2:
I installed it, but I can't run it. I don't know why. It shows this error:
Step 3:
Reinstalling it didn't help; it still doesn't work.
Step 4:
I only have two services listed below. One works automatically, I started the other, and I can't set it to work automatically because I get a parameter error.
Step 5:
Unfortunately, that didn't help either. ..
I'm devastated, I can't use any additional Bluetooth devices at all 😭
