pnj, your entirely right about the recovery partion and I did try it but the pc would not recognize it and just reboot back to home screen.
In answer to your statement of dealing with to no issue with the Windows 10, I told them over the phone that if I didn't feel the resolution is handled in due time, I would be contacting my media news in the local location about how Omen users are using a product that could be potentially dangerous to consumers.

Yeah, once the Windows.old folder is gone, you're pretty much out of luck. Honestly though, I wouldn't bother with the USB. It'll probably load all their bloatware crap back on it as well.
I would just try and download an 8.1 ISO and install that. Nice and clean of OEM grabage, and since these systems came with 8/8.1, the activation keys are stored in BIOS and should activate as genuine after installation (at least in my experience they do, had some troubles with a few Dells not activating).

Haha, more power to you man, you are way more patient than I. I'm just way too lazy to go one by one, especially now that more bloatware is being installed than ever before. Had a lenovo last week with 28 of these useless programs (including the lovely SuperFish). Process of removal: Wipe and reinstall
I do that with all new systems now just because it's quicker from my experience. Let me know how it goes, but cross your fingers that HP steps up and you won't have to put it to use.

ShruikaN, thank you. I have been told I have the patience of a wall haha
Yes I have seen a spike in the number of bloatware applications since Windows Vista. I have had three HP laptops, and only one did I do a complete wipe and reinstall because of the annoyance and press for time.
I hope that enough Omen users report this issue to HP till either they get annoyed and release a patch or they give a ETA on when the patch will be available. There is a whole set of tools everyone has in order to get attention focused on the issue. Several Omen owners have called, others have posted and started new threads to this forum. Raise such storm that they will listen.

To Mr. Shruikan, yes understand now what you meant and indeed my mistake to imply you were somehow favored! when in fact in the same boat with all of us. But, the situation seems to be there are perhaps 6 or seven people here, and we are all interacting with eachother over this bad issue. Am guessing that the thinking of the HP Co. is that most folks, average IQ being what it is these days, likely won't even notice that anything is missing. The few of us can rant and holler all we want, but perhaps 50,000 other Omen owners don't know or don't care. Unhappy, but there is. All we then can do is hope the mfr will eventually do something, when it suits them.

Don't worry about it.
Honestly, this being a gaming laptop, I'd hope that the vast ajority of the owner base is at least a few points above the average IQ. It does take some form of knowledge to determine if the specs in a computer are good enough to run the games and applications you want. Of course, you also have those people that buy it just because it looks cool and has fancy lighting. Let's just hope that those people are in the minority of Omen owners.
I will continue to hagle HP Support everyday until we get something useful out of them.

Alright so we've got new drivers pushed out by HP today.
The major one (as the others are absolutely uselss), is the HP System Event Utility which has these changelog notes:
- Fixes an issue where the HP Omen Control hardware setting does not function properly in a system running Windows 10.
- Provides support to upgrade the system to Windows 10
I will install and reboot once I'm done talking with idiot who calls himself a support technician. Will post back how it goes. This isn't a fan fix but at least we're getting somewhere.
