So I've been getting this error ever since i update Windows in this laptop, the error is in a notification which says low power-source detected laptop will run in low performance mode. I mean the frame i hit in games is terrible and I'm shocked after i saw people reviewing the same laptop but getting more than triple the fps i get. I am sure the reason of my low fps is because of this problem. ive tried many ways to fix this but none work. I hope there is a way to fix this issue and please let me know the solution soon.

@Runata, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
The notification you're seeing may indicate that your laptop is running in a power-saving mode due to a low battery or an insufficient power source. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Check the Power Connection:
- Ensure that your laptop is properly connected to an AC power source using a compatible power adapter.
- Inspect the power cable and adapter for any physical damage. Replace them if necessary.
Verify Battery Health:
- If you are running on battery power, make sure the battery is fully charged. Connect the laptop to an AC adapter to recharge it.
- You can use the HP Support Assistant or Windows Battery Report to check the battery's health.
Adjust Power Settings:
- Go to Start > Settings > System > Power & sleep.
- Ensure that your power plan is set to "Balanced" or "High performance" instead of "Power saver."
Replace or Calibrate the Battery:
- If the battery is old or damaged, consider replacing it with a new one.
- You may also want to calibrate the battery to ensure accurate reporting of remaining charge.
Check for Windows and Driver Updates:
- Ensure that your Windows operating system and device drivers are up to date as they might include performance improvements or bug fixes.
Examine Task Manager:
- Open Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
- Check for any high power-consuming processes that might be running in the background and end them if they are unnecessary.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi Garp_senchau,
Thank you for your detailed guidance. I have conducted all the suggested tests and followed the troubleshooting steps, including running the HP hardware diagnostics. However, the issue still persists—whenever I connect the charger, the laptop shows "low power source detected" and continues to run slowly.
Could you please advise on any advanced steps or if this may indicate a hardware issue (such as with the adapter, battery, or power circuit)? Your further guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Runata
