Hi, has anyone here experience really bad stuttering after updated to Windows 11 23H2? I bought the Omen 17 i9-13900HX + RTX 4090 laptop few days ago and spent hours trying to figure out why ALL games only have 3-5 FPS on a brand new laptop!! After uninstalled the 23H2 update the stuttering is gone!

Too early to jump to the wagon. One of my rarely use machine which is an HP Omen 15 running Windows 11 Home. I refused to install Windows 11 23H2.
Microsoft did a bad thing, it forced me to download 2 ISO files due to language. One of my machine uses English US and the installation process did not allow me to keep user files/data, programs, apps using English International version.
Regards.

Hi @Andy5017,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I can offer some general advice on troubleshooting performance issues with games on Windows.
-
Graphics Drivers: Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Visit the official NVIDIA website to download and install the latest drivers for your RTX 4090.
-
Windows Updates: While updating to the latest version of Windows is generally recommended, it's possible that specific updates can cause compatibility issues. Check for updates and see if there are any new graphics or system updates available.
-
Power Settings: Make sure your laptop is set to high-performance mode. Sometimes, power-saving settings can limit the performance of your hardware.
-
Background Processes: Check for unnecessary background processes that might be using up system resources. Close any non-essential applications and disable unnecessary startup programs.
-
Game Settings: Adjust in-game graphics settings. Your laptop should be able to handle high-performance gaming, but tweaking settings like resolution, texture quality, and others can impact performance.
-
Temperature Monitoring: High temperatures can lead to performance issues. Use software to monitor the temperature of your CPU and GPU. If they are running too hot, consider improving cooling, such as using a cooling pad or ensuring good ventilation.
-
Rollback Windows Update: If you suspect the 23H2 update is causing the issue, you can consider rolling back to the previous version of Windows. However, this is a temporary solution, and it's generally recommended to keep your system up to date.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
