The windows key is not recognized on my laptop I have tried reinstalling drivers, nothing has happened and I really am stuck, I just got this laptop yesterday and the sound wasn't working, now this. (I have got sound now)

Check to see if there is a hardware problem: Watch this video.

Tap the ESC key after powering on. Tap it once a second after you see the LEDs on the keyboard flash. When you see the startup menu, press F2 to run diagnostics and the keyboard test.  If the key fails you need to replace the keyboard or possibly remove the key and look for a possible problem.
