Hi @Himmeyp ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Updating the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) of your laptop can be a critical process, Here's a guide on how to update the BIOS on an HP laptop:

Note: Before proceeding, make sure your laptop is plugged into a power source to prevent any interruptions during the update. Also, back up your important data as a precautionary measure.

Identify your current BIOS version:

  • Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box.
  • Type msinfo32 and press Enter.
  • Look for the BIOS version/date in the System Information window.

Visit the HP Support website:

  • Go to the official HP Support website (https://support.hp.com).
  • Enter your laptop model (in this case, HP Laptop PC 15s-Fq2000) and navigate to the Drivers & Downloads section.

Find the latest BIOS update:

  • Look for the latest BIOS update for your specific laptop model.
  • Download the BIOS update file to your computer.

Prepare a USB flash drive:

  • Format a USB flash drive to FAT32.
  • Copy the downloaded BIOS update file to the root directory of the USB flash drive.

Plug in the USB flash drive:

  • Insert the USB flash drive into an available USB port on your laptop.

Access the BIOS/UEFI:

  • Restart your laptop and press the appropriate key to enter the BIOS/UEFI during the startup process. This key varies (common keys include Esc, F1, F2, F10, or Del). Check your laptop's manual or the startup screen for the correct key.

Update BIOS from USB:

  • Navigate to the BIOS/UEFI update utility using the on-screen instructions.
  • Select the option to update the BIOS from the USB flash drive.
  • Choose the BIOS update file from the flash drive.

Follow on-screen instructions:

  • Follow the on-screen prompts to initiate the BIOS update.
  • Do not interrupt the process until it's complete.

Restart your laptop:

  • Once the update is finished, restart your laptop.

Important:

  • Do not turn off or restart your laptop during the BIOS update process.
  • Ensure that the laptop is connected to a power source throughout the update.
  • Be patient, as the update may take some time.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
