Hi,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand that your built-in camera is not being detected, and the screenshot shows the Windows Camera error 0xA00F4244 (NoCamerasAreAttached).

Please try the following steps:

Check the camera privacy settings

  • Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Camera.
  • Turn on camera access.
  • Also enable Let apps to access your camera.

Check Device Manager

  • Right-click Start > Device Manager.
  • Expand cameras, imaging devices, and sound, video, and game controllers.
  • Check whether the camera is listed.
  • If it is listed, right-click it and select Enable device if that option is available.
  • If there is a warning icon, let us know the error code.

Scan for hardware changes

  • In Device Manager, select Action > Scan for hardware changes.
  • Check whether the camera appears afterward.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • Shut down the laptop.
  • Turn it on and repeatedly press Esc.
  • Press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
  • Run the available Camera/Webcam test and note any failure ID.

If the camera does not appear in Device Manager at all, please provide the exact HP model/product number and let us know whether your laptop has a physical camera privacy shutter or camera privacy key. This will help us determine the next step.

Best regards,
Kuroi_Kenshi
