Hi. I have an Omen Laptop that has an ssd boot hard drive and a 1tb normal hard drive for data. Can I upgrade the second harddrive to a large ssd or does it have to stay as it is? Thanks.

Neil

Hello Neil,

You can change either drive to a larger one technically.

The 1TB HDD can be swapped out for a 2.5 inch Sata SSD also. They connect exactly the same.

Only problem is, one of the other partitions needed for certain functionality might be located on the 1 TB HDD, like the Recovery partition or such. It would have to be cloned to the new SSD to keep all functionality working.  But otherwise, it will work.
