I want to upgrade the 4GB of ram that my hp pavilion bc-415nq came with beacuse its runing slow and the only thingh i hear from everywhere is to upgrade to a minimum of 8GB of ram and i want to know if i go dual channel or not and if i can get 16GB of ram

Below is the link to the crucial memory report for your notebook.

 

You can actually go as high as 2 x 16 GB of memory if you want.

There is no such type of memory as single or dual channel memory.

 

Single channel memory = memory in one slot, and an empty memory slot, or mismatched memory capacities in both slots (2 GB + 4 GB for example).

 

Dual channel memory = matching capacity memory in both slots (2 x 2 GB, 2 x 4 GB for example).
