Hi @UDYR,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I can imagine how disheartening it must feel watching your OMEN by HP 15-dh0153tx laptop freeze during Windows installation after a BIOS update, especially when you’ve tried everything from external drives to searching for older BIOS versions. You're not alone in this, and I’m here to help you navigate the issue.
Steps to Troubleshoot and Recover
Here’s what you can do next:
1. Try BIOS Recovery (Even Without Windows)
HP provides a BIOS recovery method that works even if Windows isn’t installed:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Press and hold Windows + B, then press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds.
- Release the Power button, but keep holding Windows + B until you see the BIOS recovery screen.
More details here: HP Desktop PCs - Recovering the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) | HP® Support
2. Use HP Cloud Recovery Tool
If the BIOS recovery doesn’t help, try reinstalling Windows using HP’s official recovery tool:
- Download the HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Support on another PC.
- Create a recovery USB for your OMEN laptop.
- Boot from the USB and follow the guided steps.
3. Check for Updated Drivers and BIOS
Visit the official HP driver page for your model to ensure you’re using the correct BIOS and firmware:
